I must say the WoW: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition actually sounds worth the money, which may be the first time I’ve ever said that about any collector’s edition.
That said, Blizzard has a pretty good reputation with these things. No silly glasses. No cat helmet. Just a bunch of things I’d like to check out and pretty book for the coffee table.
I think I’m in. What about you folks? Anyone happy with past collector’s editions, WoW or otherwise?
I’ve purchased each collector’s edition to date, including the Diablo II CE. This one looks pretty good, and the 12 minute sample of music they’ve let out into the wild is fantastic.
What he said. In our household, one of us gets the CE (me) and one of us gets the normal copy. This CE is pretty much the same as the previous ones of course.
I just don’t have room for CE stuff that I will look at for a while and then my wife will put it into a box in the attic when our small house starts to burst at the seems again.
I am still tempted, but my frugality wins out nowadays.
I bought the CE for the original US release of WoW. Just got the regular versions of the EU release + expansions.
Hmm, kinda wondering if I could persuade customer service to flag my EU WoW account as a CE one if I provide them with the details of my US edition… nah, they probably won’t do it. Anyone have experience in this?
And why is that, exactly? Cataclysm follows the same formula as the WotLK and TBC collector’s editions, to a T.
A bit worried about it only being at retail stores – GameStop has been far less dependable in securing CEs than Amazon, for me. I’ll see about going with another retail store, I suppose.
I can’t really pass up a WoW CE since the Burning Crusade soundtrack has never been made available. They finally sold the one from the first release, but haven’t done the same with TBC.
The contents and price of the Cataclysm Collector’s Edition has been announced by Blizzard today. The Collector’s Edition will run for $79.99 and be available only at retail stores. The release date has not been announced yet.
