X-COM designer making a launch title for the 3DS

Julian Gollop, one of the designers behind X-COM and Laser Squad, said last week that he is working on a turn-based tactical game that will be a launch title for Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS hardware.

I think this has the potential to be all kinds of awesome.

Didn’t he also make a NDS game what was solid but nothing to write home about?

His earlier efforts might be okish, but I think THE game most everybody wants a remake of isn’t Rebelstar, but X-Com.

Yeah, Rebelstar (it was for the GBA btw) wasn’t all that great, but maybe this one will be a bit more ambitious. The teaser comments at least hint that the meta-game will be more extensive this time around.
