What are the Quintessential Nintendo DS Games?

Bought a Nintendo DS yesterday on whim. Picked up “New” Super Mario Bros. and Yoshi’s Island DS so I think I got platformers covered.

What else should I get…to have the true/best DS experience that can be?

Mario Kart DS. No collection is complete without it.

Meteos.

We’ve had at least five of these threads in the last two weeks.

Somebody should just post a thread asking what is the quintessential quintessential Nintendo DS games thread.

Fixed

BTW I must have ignored them all since I didn’t have a DS at the time, doh.

Maybe Tom should sticky one good “what games should I get” thread for every console?

I really like FF3!

I guess EBA is pretty good too. Oh yeah and brain age hmm what else…

I’m going to say Rocket Slime… again.

To me “quintessential” does not mean the same as “best”.

I would say that the two games which best sum up the DS are Mario Kart and Brain Age.

I’d say the game that takes makes best use of the stylus is Kirby’s Canvas Curse, or Trauma Center.

I don’t care for the “Quintessential” games, I guess.

My “must haves”:

Phoenix Wright
Elite Beat Agents
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

The closest thing to a quintessential I’ve played and enjoyed is Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.

Ok, now lets say I can only choose two games.

Animal Crossing and Nintendogs.

Matio Kart and Advance Wars: Dual Strike

Phoenix Wright should be one of the two. It’s unique enough.

Ossu Tatake Ouendan and Dragon Quest Rocket Slime.

Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrows, Mario Kart DS

Ouendan. In Japanese. It’s not as awesome in english with bad pop music you’ve heard a million times before.

Ouendan, Kirby, Meteos - not only good games, but a good variety of activities.
