So, I have always been super stingy with my money in the past, (because I never had any) but now I have a real job that pays a real wage. I just got my first paycheck yesterday… and I feel like I should treat myself for a. getting the job b. graduating from college, and c. finally buying something fun for a change
So, I decided I need a handheld gaming device, since I haven’t had once since the GBA… So, any good games for the DS.
My tastes are pretty wide open, I like a bit of everything… So I guess my question would be… What is your favorite DS game… and why?
Success is its own reward. Don’t make the same mistakes I have (I’m only 27!) and fritter away your nice new salary. Max out 401k contributions, build up a few months’ salary in a money market account, and never ever spend more than you make in a given month.
My flavor of the month is Super Dodge Ball Brawlers… but I’d be lying if I my favorite wasn’t Puzzle Quest. I finally played head-to-head, and it rekindled the addiction. Put a 8-12 second timer on and it’s like a fast-paced Magic: The Gathering duel.
Anyone that buys that Guitar Hero game for the DS without trying Elite Beat Agents first deserves a smacking.
Those threads are all good but hard to sort through given some of them are 3 years old now. Which one is the most recent?
I’m interested in this same question but will eliminate from my list (call me a hater) anything with bug eyed protagonists and cute schoolgirl outfits. The World Ends With You and Elite Beat Agents, for instance.
The Zelda edition DS bundle isn’t bad if you can still find it. You get a unique color/design DS and the Zelda game, which is a decent entry into the series.
I know someone will call me lame for this, but I’m really enjoying the Lego Star Wars Collector’s Edition on the DS. Yes it’s a kid’s game, but damn if it isn’t tons of fun. Playing through all the stories with little lego versions of all the characters, finding all the secrets and solving the puzzles while beating down enemies with your lightsaber or blaster and watching them shatter into little brick piles…awesome.
Shiren is only 20 bucks too! I was also thinking of Puzzle Quest. I will look for the Phantom Hourglass bundle, but failing that, I am totally going to rock the Cobalt Blue version.
Highly disappointing, from a guy with your moniker. I propose you talk to Tom about changing to ‘Jon_Financially_Responsible’ from now on. Also, get Tetris. Can’t go wrong with Tetris.
We need a “hotness rating section” for games, where all members can vote thumbs up or down on games by platform so we don’t get these threads every week :)
That would be pretty cool, especially if it were kept separate from the forums themselves. I wouldn’t want the marketers and inarticulate posters such a shiny toy would draw in here, ya know?
