I said elsewhere I’m getting lockups on Oblivion…It’s kind of migrated into dirty disc errors on occasion. It’s ONLY happening on Oblivion, but just in case, I’d like to clean the drive as well as the disc.
Anyone know if there’s a problem with using one of those DVD drive cleaner kits on the 360 while its standing vertically? Problem with the fluid dripping down or somthing like that?
Also, anyone know one of these things that’s especially good?
Fluid? The only ones I’ve used are the ones with tiny brushes embedded on various places around the disk.

In the “eating your words” category: just eliminated the dreaded Disk Read Errors on the kids’ PS2 using an optical drive cleaner. Glad it happened, too, replacement PS2 drives are far harder to come by than Xbox drives.
… Why don’t you just set it horizontal while you use the cleaner?
I don’t think it’s really necessary to use any sort of drive cleaner that uses a fluid. The only thing on the lens should be dust that has settled there.
