Silent hill meets marble madness

Well, it was disappointing that the Master Chief Collection didn’t make the Series S|X launch lineup, but it looks like it’s coming the very next week:

Adjustable FOV? I’m used to game designers deciding that sort of stuff for me, even on PC I never change it from the default usually. I think the only game I tried to change it was Kingdom of Amulur because of how they did the 4:3 ratio FOV so that you could only see your character’s back and nothing else. Other than that, I don’t think I’ve ever changed the FOV.

Better performance but not talking FPS.

Seems like Scorn doesn’t have its own thread at this point, but anyway…

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Wow was that terribly boring. Is that really the most exciting set of things they could think to show off?

Yeah I felt the same way but I didn’t want to be negative. But, since you started it…

It looked like a slow, boring, Geiger Doom. Look a shotgun, but it’s made of bones and tits! Shoot this slow ass penis slug.

I hope Celtic Frost and Danzig do the soundtrack.

I honestly have never looked at the actual numbers for other games, but 90ms input lag on a local game seems… really high for an FPS.

I always thought the input lag on Gears was intentional, to make your character feel heavy and tankish. Like, an artistic decision.

It does help explain why gears 5 felt even more laggy over xCloud… I had never played it, and attributed the lag all to the streaming. So, probably not the best option for that.

Apart from the auto HDR, which I can’t see, all that footage of older games at decent framerates is relly impressive IMO.

It would be nice to get comparisons to PC and other games. That said, Bluetooth and Xbox wireless controllers only poll every 8ms (125Hz polling rate) currently. Gaming mice typically use 1ms (1000Hz) in contrast. More importantly it’s a consistent update frequency, so your controller inputs could be 15ms behind if you missed the last polling interval.

With the Xbox Series Microsoft made the system dynamic, so the controller updates as needed. They also added performance improvements to the input pipeline. Nice to see some of this in action.

Ya, 90ms SEEMS high to me, but maybe it’s not.

Although when I recently played gears 5, it did feel kind of clunky to me.

I was thinking that it had to be that or the power button. I was so frustrated at MS because their XSX photo gallery places the controller IN FRONT OF THE DAMN BIND BUTTON.

Elder Scrolls: Metro

Ooooh. If this has the pacing and ambiance of the Metro games that rouses my interest.
