This seems vanishingly unlikely. The proportion of users with that tuner must be a fraction of 1%.

No surprises, but nice confirmation that the Series X works as expected!

I thought they already announced tuner support wasn’t coming forward.

Nothing officially announced. Everyone’s assuming that will be the case, since there’s no HDMI In.

All they have to do to support it though is to allow the existing OneGuide App to work on Series X|S. So I hope they surprise me.

I use the Plex app and my HDHomerun Prime cablecard tuner to watch live TV on my Xbox. You do need Plex Pass to use the TV/DVR functionality, but I have a lifetime pass.

Silicondust also has HD antenna network tuners, including their new 4K Connect, which handles the next-gen of OTA signals, so 4K OTA, etc.

I do the same for DVR functionality. I have the lifetime PlexPass. But Plex couldn’t pause live TV last I looked, so it’s not very good for pausing during a Football game, and then coming back and fast forwarding, for instance. Like the Xbox One.

But yeah, I’m really happy to see the progress on the Plex Guide recently. They’ve got it looking just like the OneGuide app now. Hopefully they’ll continue to improve it. My only issue there is my CPU is so old, it really creaks on this stuff.

Quick google says Plex can indeed pause live TV. I don’t use its DVR myself.

From the GameRant article:

Do these guys have any idea what they’re talking about?

Apparently not.

They forgot to mention that SSDs are where liches store their life force!

As punishment for that article, I’m afraid I have to ask you to stop posting links for 48 hours.

I was thinking more

Because I try to help and you chase me off thinking I’m a monster… when YOU are the real monsters!?

Half an hour?!? Are unboxing videos normally that long?

Edit; It’s very compelling. I can see why people watch unboxing videos now. Well, I don’t know why, but I understand now.

Edit2: I’m jealous of that Series S form factor. That thing looks neat. And it’s small enough that it would even fit on top of my Xbox One, even though there’s not much room on that shelf.

Yeah, that’s too long for me. 10-12’ is ideal. Show what’s in the box, give your thoughts. I don’t have 30’ to spend on someone unboxing something.

MKBHD did it right with the PS5 unboxing.

Hmmm, never understood the appeal of unboxing videos to begin with but 30 minutes does seem rather excessive.

The main thing I learned in that video is that neither the Series X nor Series S comes with a headset. IIRC both the 360 and the XB1 came with headsets, I still have both.

I think the lesson Microsoft learned is that 99% of the people who do use the mic in online play are griefers/trolls/racists/etc.
