I think the lesson is the included mic was always garbage.

Basically confirmation of existing plans, but nice to see that everything that could be played on the Xbone can still be played on the, uh, Sexbox?

My brain can’t handle what 500K+ hours of testing looks like.

There’s a sweet spot in length you need to hit with Youtube videos to maintain your engagement or some bullshit so they can push ads. Basically to game the algorithm. So these low-level wannabe influencers have to make over-long videos full of bullshit to pad the length, making the algorithm favor their video.

Thank fuck

As someone who uses ā€œxboneā€ frequently, I just can’t get behind ā€œSexboxā€.

So you’re of a missionary guy.

giphy

Would have also been acceptable.

So do I, and the Xbone version still works great. Does the new controller have the same port in the bottom?

Some interesting statements here.

That’s a pretty empty statement. They’re trying to imply the PS5 is lacking by being less than a ā€œfullā€ integration, but without giving any technical details on how the PS5 is deficient in comparison. For all we know Sony’s deviations from RDNA2 are improvements over the base design, or just as effective alternatives. And despite being a ā€œfull integrationā€ of RDNA2, we know from die shots the Xbox Series X lacks Infinity Cache, which many people are pointing to as one of the most important improvements in that architecture. It’s still unknown if PS5 has Infinity Cache.

Yes, I thought you were on link restriction for another 24 hours and the best thing you’ve found on the Internet today is a marketing article where two tech companies made a deal with each other for exposure.

Xbox is losing the console forum thread wars this week.

It’s possible I’m cranky because I may have to spend $500 to play a game from 2013 in 1080p, and it’s not even a good game.

Eurogamer: Tetris Effect: Connected is the multiplayer I need right now

Woohoo! The Series X|S killer app! I’m excited too. It’s coming to Game Pass on launch day, so no need for me to set aside money for this one either.

Alright gents. So I’m thinking of not putting the Series X on my TV initially, but on my computer desk, replacing my old spare 360.

Here’s the question: how would I get audio? For my 360 I had a VGA adapter cable Microsoft sold, and connected a red and blue wires from old receiver that I have sitting behind my monitor connected to that. So my 360 puts video through HDMI to my monitor (no speakers), and the audio through the VGA port thingie to the red and white audio cable going to the old receiver, which connects to decent size speakers and subwoofer that I have.

So I guess I need some kind of cable that will convert HDMI to HDMI and red and white cables. Is there something like that? I wish I had a better technical vocabulary for this stuff so I could google it easier.

Edit: I wonder if this will work:

Hmmm, then there’s some from J-tech that are twice the price. I wonder if they’re all the same?

Yes, I’d think that splitter should work, though I have no specific experience with them.

Your monitor doesn’t have a headphone output jack either? If it did, you could connect that to the receiver using a 3.5mm to RCA cable (red-and-white).

Technically, you could use the headphone jack in the controller and run that to the receiver, though that’s kind of awkward.

Note that anything that uses a headphone jack limits you to stereo and isn’t the best quality option. Just how old is the receiver? If it has HDMI support, the optimal solution would be to run the HDMI from the Xbox to the receiver and then the output to the monitor.

The one you posted appears to be HDMI 1.4 @Rock8man. This will work better, but is still HDMI 2.0 only - that will limit you to 4K@60.

It’s getting up there. I tend to use electronics as long as they keep working. I believe this Aiwa receiver is from mid to late 90s. Definitely no HDMI. No headphone jack or audio of any kind on my monitor.

My monitor is 1920x1080, I think HDMI 1.4 might be all I need? I suppose there might be a scenario in which I upgrade my monitor though, if it dies. Hmmm.
