Crap - I did the same but the delivery date is still TBD. Welp.

Dang. From what I understand (and my understanding is minimal and may be wrong) that means the mass “your shipment may be delayed” email that Amazon sent out to all pre-order customers may apply to you. Hopefully you get good news and a shipping date shows up later in the week! Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Wow, that worked for me too!

That trick also updated my Amazon order to show Nov 10. However, the SSD expansion still shows a “pending” message.

Mine is still TBD. I don’t mind if it’s not on release day, but hope it’s not more than a couple weeks later.

Okay that was a cool trick! My Amazon order updated as well.

So did mine, which is really reassuring. Thank you for sharing.
10/10, would change payment method again.

My son was at Best Buy today, they said they would have one series x in stock on 11/10. One. Looks like if you didn’t get a pre order in, good luck buddy.

When I looked at my order via MS yesterday, it still said “pending”. I just checked again and it’s changed to “pre-ordered: estimated delivery Nov 10th”. So that’s good. Still haven’t been charged yet, though.

Oh hey cool, mine says that too - I assume that means we’ve been allocated a console and there’s no risk of being on the short end of an out-of-stock? One more week!

My 1TB Seagate storage expansion now shows delivery by Nov 12 via 2 Day. Guess the console is release day delivery but not the accessory.

How will you live without the extra storage for 2 days?!?!

Technically, you can just plug any external SSD in via USB and use it, albeit not at quite the super duper crazy speed.

But… yeah… are folks really worried that they are gonna fill up the existing 1TB drive…immediately? Why buy the expanded storage now? Why not later, when it’s cheaper and you might actually need it?

It won’t be cheaper, they will keep the price artificially high as it’s not a commodity part. But yeah, no reason to buy until you need it.

I think they already said they’re letting other 3rd parties make them, so they’ll be cheaper.

The only one available is from a third party, but it’s a proprietary format and MS is probably selling a license to use it.

Well, whatever the case, the built in drive seems like i’ll be plenty big for me, for a while at least.

Assuming I don’t want to play any more COD garbage.

I better decide which Next Gen console I’m sticking to in like a day. Anyone still hurting for a console?

I have a bunch of Xbox games. Many are getting upgrades to Series X. Plus the launch titles. I’m sure I’ll fill both the internal and expansion drives up quickly.

When new, larger drives arrive for the Xbox Series I’ll upgrade my storage and pass the 1TB launch drive on to my kids’ consoles.

They didn’t actually say that. They made a vague promise of additional capacity options that implied other third party makers, but did not actually confirm that.
