Bad enough to pay retail + shipping costs, but he’ll definitely live without it. :)
Looks like the Series X is quite a bit faster in loading older backward compatible games off the internal SSD on some games compared to PS5. But in others it’s a dead heat.
Final Fantasy XV and Monster Hunter World much faster on Series X, Arkham Knight was closer, Red Dead Redemption 2 was a dead heat.

My understanding is that retailers will be releasing some stock for online orders on launch day, so your best bet might be to try and grab one of those.
Short capture of Legion running on Series S(upscaled 4K no HDR) and X with ray tracing. Lots of shiny puddles!
Remember when the shiny water checkbox in Morrowind was the state of the art?
It looks to me like there is ray traced reflections in the puddles, but not on the store windows. They seem to be using their usual normal map techniques there (or whatever they use). But, at the very least I saw player reflection in the store windows. I’m not sure if they’re doing full ray traced reflections in the windows there or not. Maybe just the player? It looks good.
That water was wondrous at the time; I remember staring at it and being so impressed.
Haven’t played Morrowind since around 2005, but I feel like the water in that game looked better than it did in subsequent ES games.
No, the store windows in that video are ray traced (at least out to a certain distance before it swaps to another technique). You can see reflections of cars driving past.
I was playing Skyrim (in VR) just last week, staring at the water and thinking about how nice the Morrowind water was… :P
But I think it is partially nostalgia. It does look cool but not especially realistic these days.
You’re probably right - thinking back (because I’m too lazy to check a youtube vid!), it kinda looked like mercury.
Both of the 1TB Seagate Storage Expansions I have ordered are delayed a week plus. One from Amazon (Nov. 19) the other Target (Nov. 16).
I’ve lost any hope of getting the console early now (or on launch day). My credit card still hasn’t been charged yet. Walmart still shows it as “preparing Order”.

Has anyone who ordered it from Amazon received shipping info yet? Still waiting here, although they still list a delivery time of Tuesday by 8PM.
The line between “Ordered” and “Shipping” is about as close to “Shipped” as it can get, which means it’s basically prepped.
My guess is that Amazon has already distributed these out to all the appropriate warehouses for each order. They’ll “ship” today, but they won’t move as they’re already in place (or if they do, they don’t need to go very far to get to the final distribution hub). They just need to be loaded on the delivery trucks in the morning. But they won’t need to fly massive numbers of consoles around the country overnight.
My Amazon Store Prime Credit Card was charged for the Xbox overnight, which suggests it’ll ship today. If they are staged to local warehouses as @Woolen_Horde suggested it seems reasonable they’ll arrive tomorrow. Anecdotally Amazon’s two day shipping is basically one day to get it to your local warehouse and the next to do the delivery anymore.
Yeah, one thing Amazon does really well is logistics. These are pretty big boxes, and Amazon probably has A LOT of them. They have had a game plan for a while on how to deal with them.

There wasn’t a pending charge on my card when I posted but I just looked again and there is one there now. Nice.
Oh yeah, they’re shockingly good at it. I wasn’t too concerned yet, but I would have been if everyone else who had a Tuesday delivery had their tracking info. :)

Same. Still shows coming Thursday. So weird.
I’ve got a $345 charge pending on my Amazon card. ($499+tax-XBoneX trade-in)
