Well that is pretty nifty, and it so happens that I have a 2 meter cable USB-A to USB-C cable that I can plug into a wall wart and my house has a decent number of electrical outlets as well.

FPS Boost is coming to 5 Bethesda games.

The five games in question are Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Prey, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, and Dishonored: Definitive Edition.

Nice!

The play and charge battery packs from the XBO generation controllers work fine in the new Series controller.

BTW, thanks for the links above, @stusser, @Don_Quixote, @divedivedive and @Enidigm .

Looks like you can enjoy your Bethesda games FPS boost right now:

Five games from Bethesda - all freshly available with Xbox Game Pass - just got an FPS boost:

  • Dishonored: Definitive Edition
  • The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76
  • Prey

Microsoft said to expect to see an increase from 30fps to nearly60 fps with FPS Boost for the above games. To experience FPS Boost, make sure your console has the latest update installed and the FPS Boost function is turned on in Compatibility Options under the Manage Game section.

I’d expect Digital Foundry will take a look at performance for those games soon-ish.

Boy, Costco sure takes it’s ITS sweet time processing orders for UPS Ground shipment, sheesh. They provide a tracking number but it’s useless for days and days, but they tell you your item has shipped. What’s up with that? Does anyone who works/worked in shipping and receiving know?

Bunch of Bethesda games got 60FPS boosts today:

And apparently an update that just went up for Outer Worlds enabled 60FPS?

This is turning out to be a pretty crazy Monday!

Ah, so it’s me you have on ignore… :P

Hey guys, a bunch of Bethesda games just got the FPS boost early!

Awesome news!

Tough crowd.

That’s great news about Outer Worlds. I think the second expansion for Outer Worlds is about to come out too.

One of the few RPGs that I’ve actually completed in the last couple of years.

Indeed.

Dang, outriders not on Windows game pass. It’s a first person shooter right?

According to wikipedia it’s 3rd person.

Did you guys who got your console from Costco do the
included ground shipping? I went with that but now I’m wondering if I should have upgraded it.

Oh? Maybe I will pay on XSX then. I can’t do FPS on a gamepad.

The aim assist on console was aggressively bad, snapping to center of mass even when an enemy was behind cover with their head peeking out. Hopefully they’ve fixed it.

Planet Alpha is on sale this week for $3. I had it on my wishlist so I grabbed it. I couldn’t remember why I put it on my wishlist though. Qt3 doesn’t have a thread for it. But I think it was based on this post:

This is really great info. Not only was there an FPS boost, but load times and input latency have been greatly improved for these games.
