Most maps are less than 30 sec I think… Definitely usually get the press to continue before Bradford finishes talking. Haven’t held a watch to it though 🙂

WOTC question:. Has anyone encountered the Chosen in any order other than Assassin, Warlock, Hunter?

Or at least, not Assassin first? I always have to kill the Assassin first, kind of wanted to hear if she shit talks in the endgame.

The Hunter was the first in the QT3 Game. Showed up on the third mission.

Yeah, the order is randomized.

A dumb Q - I never finished my X-COM2 game but recently bought WOTC - should I be starting a new game with WOTC?

I guess I’m wondering if it’s a new storyline or simply new content added to the existing one.

New game.

Definitely new game. It rolls several major new systems in from the beginning (as well as tacking on additional story layers)

I ended up re-reading a lot of this thread. This made me fire it up again. After a 2 year hiatus I’m hooked again.

That Assassin sniper rifle is a game changer. Put that into the hands of a sniper with DfB and Squadsight on a roof or upper floor and she can clear half the map all by herself. Plus having the ability to move and snipe on the same turn is great as well.

Once I have that I have a sniper on all my missions.

Late game just for fun I’ve run a Colonel sniper equipped with Darklance, Darkclaw and Icarus armor and a reaper just to spot stuff, it’s hilariously OP regardless what’s on the map.

Damn I missed this game!

Every 4-6 months I get the bug and run thru another campaign.

Where is news of the next installment anyway?!

Just curious. Has anyone played WOTC and then switched back to vanilla XCOM 2? What was it like?

I did that. Played through a basic campaign, then a WOTC game, then went back to a basic one to finish some achievements. It felt easier because it’s less crammed with things happening and pressuring you.

What is your favorite mod for lengthening/eliminating mission timers? I hated those bad… I looked in the Steam Workshop but I didn’t see any that appeared to be the best. Thnx.

WOTC includes an option to lengthen the timers, so mods shouldn’t be necessary anymore.

edit: (for the record, I never had any problem with the timers and think they sometimes lead to a lot of exciting stuff that wouldn’t have happened if I could have taken my time)

I seem to recall there’s a setting they put that doubles them you can check when you start the campaign.

As for a mod, the one I think that’s interesting because it doesn’t really completely jack with the game concept of time pressure by simply removing the timer but instead has it so the timer doesn’t start until one of your team is exposed.

That always felt right to me since I just dropped in out of the sky like a WW2 paratrooper you’d think my team should get the benefit of concealment, until of course a civie is triggered or one of my guys opens up on the xenos.

Yeah, that mod is called True Concealment, but I don’t think it was ever updated for WOTC since the expansion added the turn doubler option and resistance orders that give the True Concealment timer behavior.

Sounds right, got to say, once WOTC was implemented I didn’t feel the need to worry all that much about timers either in tactical battles or the avatar project (especially avatar becasue the resistence orders often had a choice come up that pushed it back a couple clicks).

Yeah. I forgot how time constrained everything in WOTC is. Well, good. Before I got back into this, I was not playing several games. :) Now I find myself saying, It’s what time already?
