Nope. Same as normal. I know the troubleshooting steps. I have other mods that don’t work. Just being lazy.
You clicked the little button in the launcher to turn it on?
You must hate comics and superhero movies then… Come on. It’s a story telling device.

In a comic I can gloss over it. In a movie I can FF over it (I don’t watch in theaters anymore). If I could skip these I would be fine, but I can’t. They are so damned annoying. Especially since I play this a lot.
Yes, I do! I don’t understand the “Come on” part however. What does that achieve? And yes, I am aware it is a story telling device. It’s one of those devices that substitutes expediency for imagination.

Cutscenes and dialog that can not be skipped are the bleeding warts of gaming.
Apologies if it came across wrong. It was a friendly “Come one”. Sorry if it came across as condescending or worse. I take it it back.
The other choices are either walls of texts (which all hate), or cut scenes (which some hate) or just blank silence where people will then complain of a lack of background and clues as to what the heck these powerful units are.
It seems like this is a good compromise. Although I do agree with @RichVR that it gets tired after multiple playthroughs when you already know the story by heart.

I enjoy games with deep stories. I dislike games with things that can’t be skipped. But I understand why certain things should not be skipped on a first playthrough. A dev does not want gamers to skip important information, the first time. They may be assholes who skip the information and then bitch on forums about how shit the game is.
But games, including XCOM2, have ways to skip tutorials. And I’m no developer, so correct me if I’m wrong. But if you are playing the game for the second time, or the thousandth time, how hard would it be to have a radio button in the setup to stop some shit?
To be fair, WoTC’s story telling used the ingame script (in addition to skippable cutscenes) to move the Chosen etc. So it may be a “mistake” to use the tactical game to tell the story, the engine probably does not have a way to “skip” the script.

I think I understand that. A lot of mods will kill the talking in the, overmap? Does that make sense? But in the tactical screen they are not able to change it because it’s part of the tactical map? part of the code that can’t be changed because it would break other code there?
I think it’s more like the script that made the Chosen talk and move into position for the scenario setup cannot be separated and disabled individually. Thus, we are saddled with unskippable story elements within the tactical game engine.
There are quite a few mods that skipped the loading screens etc. And the story cutscenes can be skipped with spacebar (?) or escape key. So the devs are aware and they made sure that the story elements can be skipped on multiple playthroughs. Just that the tactical portions were impossible.
I should know better than to jump to conclusions on a forum. I’m sorry back.
We just disagree about aesthetics. The world is richer for it. :)
To be fair it’s not much of a story telling device either. It’s just trash talking. There isn’t any story there.
It does serve to make me hate them more though and I feel better when I kill them.

Agreed. Unfortunately you can’t torture them first.
No worries =). QT3’ers is not like a typical forum in terms of attitudes towards one another. It’s a really friendly place.

I do give the Chosen my middle finger each time one of them taunts me.
I’m past even noticing them nowadays to be honest, just noise in the background for me now…
