Impossible sounds sort of dumb, it’s really more like a nearly unwinnable roguelike at that point, according to a recent interview with Jake. Still, it’s cool they included it, even if Classic Ironman is probably the farthest I’ll ever take it (and don’t forget the Second Wave options, too).

Yeah, classic ironman with second wave fiddling sounds best. I’m sure I’ll lose many campaigns in the start, but that’s true to Xcom for me.
Thinking about trying to edit whatever ini someone found that seemed to toggle that just so I could enable Hidden Potential and Results Driven for my first game. Might wait to unlock it regularly just so I can play the game “Pure” though.
I actually had the same thought - those are two “no brainer” options to me, I enjoyed that aspect of the first game and am glad to see its return. But I think it will be more “meaningful” having experienced the game as intended first, so I’ll probably just leave it be and unlock it naturally.
I am going to start at impossible ironman.
I’m also going to get a cat of 9 tails and whip myself each time I lose. :)

I am going to play standing in an IRON MAIDEN while the dentist character from the Little Shop of Horrors is pulling my teeth (played by Steve Martin).
On top of that I will have my monitor turned off too.

Starting on classic with Ironman. Second play-through will include a number of the second wave features being toggled on.
Less than 48 hours to go :D
When that happened? I can’t remember it.
You may have done some arguments about the new system. It seems that in your mind, hilariously, believe that you “won” the argument. Heh.
I was talking specifically about the action/movement/fire system, it’s true there are new interactions like climbing a windows or moving to the roof in some cases, which is good.
There is just more granularity and detail in the old system.
edit: it’s pretty funny you jumped on exactly the most positive comment I have done about the new system, instead in all the negative ones.

You may tire from blood loss, you should hire a man to whip you so that you don’t pussy out.

The fact that there IS a an alien base is a spoiler. Thanks.
It would be a really shitty Xcom remake without them…

WHAT THE FUCK THERES ALIENS?!?!! SPOILER!?!!?!?!?!?!?!!
Watching troops dying, while other troops panic and shoot their friends, did a lot to reassure me about this being XCOM.

I think its time for me to bow out of this thread for a week or so. Its getting spoilery already.

Announcing you are leaving a thread cause some basic stuff about a game is revealed prob means you shouldn’t be in the thread at all.
It’s a good time to leave the thread anyway. We’ve reached that point before release where everyone is irritable and antsy.

Does anyone else feel this is a dumped down version of Xcom with less depth and complexity than the original?
I know lets all post on P&R that will improve our moods and increase forum harmony.
Not a bad troll, but I think there is room for a bit more subtly.

In the original X-Com, the graphics were tighter on level 3.
