I’ve never seen nor heard of these Westboro Baptist folks till now. I thought it was just an internet hoax, but after googling…holy crap - these people really do exist!
Really? You never heard about them picketing at soldiers’ funerals with signs like “God hates fags” and claiming that god was killing soldiers because America is filled with gay people?
I knew people picketed - I had no idea it was organized by some looney and the fruit of his loins. I always assumed they were just one-off wackjobs, not a whole church and such.

Probably they hired an outsider to direct and he didn’t want any credit for it. That’s definitely them, though. The ringleader is Phelps’s daughter (wife?), the one who always shows up on TV promoting the WBC.
Also, they apparently think incest is a horrible sin (not as bad as butt sex, though!), but because you have to marry within the church, the two main families have basically become one. I don’t think there’s any monther-is-also-your-wife but there is one member who is both the aunt and sister-in-law of another member.
They are expecting the rapture any day now, so I guess they figure it’ll all be over before things get too freaky. But it’s gonna be a long wait…

Support is just…not the right word. I get what you’re saying, but it’s just not the right word.
Sorry…I meant that they defended a man who decided to carry his wife’s miscarried fetus to Boston in order to have a ceremony for it. I’m just trying to figure out why they sup…defend that, but protest at the funerals of children.
