‘Couldn’t do it without you’ does motivate people, I’ve seen it in my own behavior. I tend to choose small tiers with no rewards, or small rewards that I decline, because I’m backing things I want to … I guess enable, but not own.
It is weird.
Sometimes I want Tony Robbins to hypnotize me, Shallow Hal style, so I SELLSELLSELLSELL above all else, just to sort of knock some business sense into me. I am marketing-averse. My wife is a marketing director, oddly, but she’s busy as hell and the type of stuff I make requires some community ‘scene’ knowledge to place properly, I think. It can be somewhat insular and clicky. Which is another sort of turn off.
