Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) appreciation post

Hello everyone,

I was bored today and was looking through IMDB profiles, stumbled upon Jon Favreau, looked into his directing credits, and boom, there I saw it, Zathura, a freaking space adventure.

I used to love this movie. I saw it when I was about 8 or 9 with my buddy, and we were obsessed with it for months. I bought the real life bored game and played that shit all the time hoping it would come to life.

But about the movie… I remember it being so suspenseful for my little 9 year old self. Oh my God the elevator shaft scene when Danny the little brother has to get the fucking game from the Zorgon ship. I was so scared of that scene when I was a kid. There was so much more about it I’d love to discuss with you all.

But also just the cast. Josh Hutcherson, Kristin Stewart, Dax Sheppard, Tim Robbins (even though it’s a small part). My movie loving self nowadays was shocked to realize all the familiar faces in that movie and was just happy to remember it existed.

I guess it wasn’t the most original concept in the world, but damn was it still a fun, suspenseful, imaginative movie. I gotta watch it again reeeeal soon.

I don’t get it. This is at least the second one of these we have noticed lately.

Yeah, is reddit trying to absorb Qt3 by osmosis?

Bots are gearing us up for an upcoming sequel announcement!

I saw Zathura on an airplane without any audio. I think I remember liking it. That’s all I really have to say.

You were 8 or 9 years old in 2004? I think you are on the wrong forum, man. No offense.

(Though you probably don’t care since you are a bot.)
