I remember being in high school and sending away for a bunch of recruiting materials because I was going through a military hardware phase. I just wanted pictures of cool planes and ships and tanks and stuff, and back then, we didn’t have the luxury of being able to call up that kind of pr0n on the internet.
Naturally, this put me on a lot of lists, but it was never going anywhere. So as a long-haired stoner in high school, I managed to get an inordinate amount of attention as a supposedly recruitable young man. I vaguely recall sitting in a room with a recruiter once who quickly realized I was a joke. But mostly I just got a ton of stuff in the mail and scared the hell out of my mom.
