I like those games a lot, but the one I really loved was Shadows of Doubt, which is ineligible. Easily the best game I played in 2023.

How so? Because it’s in early access?

It came out in 2023, and Early Access games are allowed I thought? I think we argued about this in years past and ended up allowing them, and then allowing them again when they hit 1.0?

Rule 2 : Any game–console, PC, mobile, etc–released in 2023 is eligible. Early Access games are eligible if they were “released” by going to version 1.0 in calendar 2023.

I think what Brooski is saying here is that early access release counts, and then can count again if it hits 1.0 in a subsequent year. Right Bruce?

Early Access games were allowed in 2018 I believe. They were not allowed later. So Slay the Spire snuck through when it went full.

It’s like the new extra point distance or the new goal crease. Sometimes stuff changes and all we can do is raise a helpless fist to the skies.

So maybe I’m remembering 2018 rules. My apologies!
