Action cameras and youtube streaming

For years the bane of buying a electronic device has been the limitations the makers build into them. From first DVD and then Bluray players that only play dvds from your region, to televisions with shitty app stores full of clunky apps, and so on.

I’ve been looking into buying a Sony FDR-X3000 4K action camera, since they’re on special, and I noticed that people were complaining that not only couldn’t you stream to youtube with them, you couldn’t do it with a go-pro and many other action cameras. Sony partner with ustream only for their live streaming - WTF, I’ve never seen anyone besides Joe Rogan stream to ustream and that was a terrible experience.

It seems that if I want to live stream something, I need to use my mobile phone and use an action camera if I bother to buy one for everything else.

I would have thought that this would be such an in-demand feature (live-streaming to youtube or facebook) that it could drive sales of a decent action camera.
