I normally skip TV ads but a good one slips through occasionally. For example, I just saw this one for the first time, which appeals to those who remember the 1970s at least a bit-- obvious Carpenters allusion:

That was the last post by a spammer, and I still laugh about it to this day. I even say it to my wife after a long laborious effort of some sort. It is my favorite ad campaign, and was a bit of a meme here 8 or 9 years ago.
This thread is timely as I just saw this ad a few dasy ago and rediscovered it. So awesome.
I saw that pseudo-Carpenters one this weekend for the first time. I admit I laughed at it. Though the guy looks more like Andy Gibbs to me than Richard Carpenter. But the girl is definitely a call-back to Karen.
Must be an odd things, to get cast in a commercial like that just because of a physical resemblance.
