I’ve got my forum set up on Wordpress, using bbPress and Buddypress plugins. Pretty happy with it, though it’s still a work i progress.
However, there is one plugin I just can’t find and my Google-Fu is failing me. Buddypress provides the ability for users to send PMs to each other, but what I can’t figure out is how to have an icon on the screen of a user, when he or she logs in, which shows they have a PM waiting for them. That’s pretty common in every forum I’ve been on, so I’d think it would be a common plug in or feature, but I can’t find it! There is a pay Theme, OneSocial, that displays it, but there are things about that theme I don’t care for, and I haven’t found a free theme with this option built in.
