Who besides hardcore gamers are going to buy the PSP?
That is a good point. The shizzle that Jakub speaks of probably won’t kick in until the system drops $100 from its current price. Still, I don’t think it’s a bad choice. Lumines has a little something for everyone.

Well, in that case, there are a hell of a lot of “hardcore” gamers. I really took the original comment to mean hardcore console folks, but that was an assumption on my part. At any rate, I think it is possible the PSP has some appeal beyond traditional console afficionados, much like many iPod buyers have never owned an mp3 player, prior to their purchase.
MP3 players haven’t been around all that long, and everyone listens to music.
I could see a casual gamer picking up a game boy, but a PSP costs $250 with no pack in game. Do you know anyone who spends that much on things that they really aren’t all that interested in?
Lumines is huge, man. If you didn’t feel that, you didn’t feel that, but for a large number of people it was nirvana. I still can’t get my PSP back from my wife, dammit.
