I usually get a good number of calls on my work phone (an iPhone) every day, but today has been oddly silent. Then I got a text from company HQ that none of our iPhones were working, nation-wide. The call will ring through, then immediately disconnect upon answering or go to voicemail.
My personal phone is an Android (Galaxy S21 Ultra), and on the same carrier as the work phone, and it works fine. But if my wife calls my Android from her iPhone (13 Pro Max), she gets a Call Failure. If I call her iPhone from my Android, I get a short recording that says, “All circuits are busy, try again later. Announcement eight.” That repeats twice and then hangs up, no voicemail.
This probably isn’t a big inconvenience for many iPhone users. Emails & texts still go through, and my kids almost never make voice calls on their phones. But it sure looks like something kersploded at Apple!
