Best Bond Babe and Villain

Well, someone had to open the can o’ worms on Bond, so let’s add:

Best (and worst) Bond Villain.

And since yet another thread will develop if I leave it out:

Best (and worst) Bond Babe.

Best Babe: Diana Rigg. Okay, sorry, my youthful Avengers crush was on Mrs. Peel. My favorite bad girls were Sophie Marceau and Barbara Carrera.

Worst Casting-Couch Slut: Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones, followed closely by Lois Chiles as Dr. Goodhead. Who cast these airheads as someone with a doctorate?

Best Bond Villain: Scaramanga. Moore at his worst, but Christoper Lee is always sublime. I had to reduce Oddjob to second because he was so successful that they constantly duplicated him with lesser imitations that simply became cliche rather than threatening. Robert Shaw is another favorite.

Worst Bond Villain: Telly Savalas. He just seemd so out of place as Blofeld and came off much the worse for following Donald Pleasance in the part.

Okay, these were just spur of the moment picks - no doubt I’ll find expert analysis of other choices compelling.

Think my favorite Bond villain is probably Sean Bean as Trevalyen in Goldeneye. I think his villain probably has the most understandable motivation, and I just like Sean Bean.

Babe though, not sure. I will always envy Ringo for landing Barbara Bach, so I’m going to go with her in whatever movie that was. The Spy Who Loved Me, maybe?

For me, it’s probably a tie between Robert Shaw and Sean Bean, though I do have a soft spot for Christopher Walken as Max Zorin.

I really didn’t care for Carver (Jonathan Pryce) in Tomorrow Never Dies, and A View To A Kill is such a waste of Walken I think I’ve got to rank that among the worst villains as well.

Best Babe: I’d probably go with Jane Seymour in Live and Let Die, though I do like Maud Adams and Sophie Marceau.

Worst Babe: Tanya Roberts. Seriously, I can’t believe anyone would question this as she’s easily the worst actress in the Bond Babe bunch.

Best Villain: Blofeld is the defining villain in the series and Donald Pleasance did the best verison, IMHO.

Worst Villain: that guy in Die Another Day. Like anyone cared.

Which Maud? Where she lives or dies (Octopussy or Golden Gun)?

Worst Babe: Tanya Roberts. Seriously, I can’t believe anyone would question this as she’s easily the worst actress in the Bond Babe bunch.
It’s the Bond flick I remember the least. The whole movie was so gawdawful that she doesn’t stand out from the rest of the film. Good choice, though.

Best Villain: Blofeld is the defining villain in the series and Donald Pleasance did the best verison, IMHO.
I count all the different Blofelds as different villains (at least for the purposes of this) since they are all different performances. Pleasance was my favorite.

Worst Villain: that guy in Die Another Day. Like anyone cared.
Which guy? Diamond Acne? Korean Silver Spoon? Or his Brit-version?

This thread would be a whole lot much, more better if pictures were included (of the Bond Babes).

Nice.

Hmmm. Yes… I’m going to remind you of Dr. Christmas Jones. Denise Richards was much worse.

Someone with a sense of humor? Denise Richards hamming up her wooden acting as a nuclear physicist named Doctor Christmas Jones is hilarious, and it’s probably the best thing in any of the pre-reboot Bond movies.

Best Babe: For me, it’s a toss-up between Diana Rigg in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and Eva Green in Casino Royale. Green particularly because she’s one of the few who’s actually seemed competent and intelligent, and not just some mewling minx.

Best Baddie: How could anybody vote against Gert Frobe as Auric Goldfinger? It will be interesting to see what Javier Bardem does, though, if the rumors turn out to be true.

I was not aware of these rumors!

Best Babe - For your eyes only. Loved Carole Fouquet <sp?>

2nd place - Olga Malynko <sp> from QoS just for her incredible hotness

3rd place - Jane Seymour

Worst Babes

Doubleheader!!
Grace Jones
Tanya Roberts

Denise Richards

Best Villians

Sean Bean
Live and Let Die - Baron Samedi - loved the Voodoo theme

Best Babe Babe: Honey Ryder Ursula Andress
Best Bond Girl: Pussy Galore Honor Blackmun
Runner up: Solitaire Jane Seymour ( my favorite of Roger Moore bond girls)

Best Mastermind: Goldfinger
Best Big Brutal Henchman: Oddjob
Worst Villain: Dax, Moonraker
Worst Henchman: Jaws(the forgettable campy era of James Bond).

Best Bond Villain: Blofeld. The defining villain of the series, and there is no doubt that it is Donald Pleasance is the actor who best played him.
Worst Bond Villain: I’d have to go with Jaws because he is the epitome of the worst campy elements of the Roger Moore era of Bond films.
Best Bond Girl: This is a toughie with so many to choose from. Despite my thing for Jane Seymour, in the end, I think I must go with the original bond girl, Ursula Andress with her coming out of the surf as THE Bond Girl scene.
Worst Bond Girl: Despite the best efforts of Tanya Roberts, this title must go to Denise Richards.

Best Babe: Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore.
Worst Babe: Tanya Roberts.

Best Villain: Gert Froebe as Auric Goldfinger (“No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!”)
Worst Villain: Richard Kiel as Jaws

I like your sub-categories. Andress was gorgeous and had that iconic rising out of the ocean scene, and Honor Blackmun was another great bad girl (on the redeemed, rather than the unredeemed side).

Drax sucked as a Mastermind. But then, a number of the masterminds sucked, and it was up to the sub-villains to carry the day. Jaws double-sucked because they brought him back for a second film. Just another bad Oddjob retread.

Sophie Marceau and 11.

Best babe Claudine Auger in Thunderball
Worst babe Tanya Roberts in A View To A Kill
Best villain Christopher Walken in A View To A kill
Worst villain Joe Don Baker in The Living Daylights

Actually I agree that Blofeld is the best villain but Walken’s performance is classic.

Best Felix Leiter? Jack Lord.
