Bright - Elves, Orcs, Humans living together with Cats & Dogs

I enjoyed it. I’d like a sequel. A quick google says a sequel is in development and Smith will return.

Er, this detail astounds me:

Not returning is Max Landis, the scribe who wrote the initial spec script for the first movie and was paid a reported $3 million to $4 million in 2016, when the project ignited a bidding war that Netflix ultimately won.

The writer made that kind of money from that script? It seemed like fan fiction quality writing.

Not only that, Max Landis thought this script would be his Star Wars.

Imagine thinking that.

I was confusing Max Landis for John Landis. Turns out Max has had a few of his own bad headlines. I wonder if this has anything to do with his absence from the sequel.

“I 100% believe every word of this article about Max. I banned him from visiting principal photography of ‘Chronicle,’ and I haven’t spoken to him since 2012,” Trank tweeted on Tuesday. “To read about the terror he’s inflicted on so many women since then makes me sick to my stomach. Heartbroken beyond measure.”
