Catch-22 from David Michod and starring George Clooney on Hulu in May

Milo, in the book, pissed me off so much that I stopped reading it. When I went back and read it again I appreciated it much more.

Chocolate covered cotton anyone?

See, I watched that clip and it just reeks of that wacky sensibility of a lot of movies of the late 1960s and early 70s, like It’s a Mad (x4) World and The Party. It just gets on my nerves. Now perhaps that’s how the book reads (I wouldn’t know, as I found Heller’s writing voice remarkably off-putting).

My wife just loves that movie. If I tell her you said that you might have a fight on your hands. :)

The vibe of the movie comes across to me less as zany and mad and more like this whole situation is absurd, its crazy, everyone is mad, and for dark and depressing reasons.
You kind of have to watch the whole thing to really see that, but it has some very dark scenes, and alan arkin is brilliant as the ‘only sane person for miles’ role that yossarian is written as.
