Christopher Robin - A Surprise Pooh

RE: Goodbye Christopher Robin

Just rented this, I thought it was fantastic. Domhnall Gleeson continues to be amazing in just about everything.

I saw Christopher Robin last night. It’s my first real exposure to a Winnie the Pooh story, and it was pretty magical. Pooh has such a downbeat melancholy demeanor that the first half of the movie feels really depressing. That makes it all the better when it lifts you up at the end.

Recommended. Now I’ll have to track down more Pooh stuff. Like that Goodbye Christopher Robin movie mentioned above, that sounds very interesting. It’s about the author of these Winnie the Pooh books/stories, right?

Correct, but its a dark film, not really for kids.

I’m pretty grown up now, despite my demeanor.

I’ve only read “The Tao of Pooh” when I was young but I liked it.

The Disney 2D Poohs, like the Tigger Movie, Piglet’s movie, etc, are very sweet stories to show your young 'uns. There are no snarky remarks, wry looks, cynical jokes aimed at parents, flying cameras smashing into walls and giving you epileptic fits… just charming yarns to entertain young kids in a relaxed way. And the art is great.
