Denis Villeneuve's Dune

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. I read the book decades ago and remember almost nothing, so my whole exposure to Dune mythos comes from the Dune: Imperium boardgame, and it was neat to see how the factions in the game were represented in the film. I really enjoyed the spectacle of the fight scenes and like Villeneuve’s pacing and scene composition. (Surprised to see Roger Deakins didn’t do cinematography here, but Greg Frasier seems very capable of translating Villeneuve’s vision to screen.)

Also, Rebecca Ferguson, damn. I been a fan for some time. She even made Reminiscence worth watching, which is really saying something. Here, she’s the real star.
