Epic Games Store - 88% split goes to devs

There’s also a free one called GetFolderSize but it hasn’t been updated in a while.

WizTree (which I found out about on this very forum) is an AWESOME utility for finding out which directories/files are taking up all your disk space.

I use Spacesniffer. http://www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/index.html

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and something called Sludge Life are free on EGS now.

Meh. Own it already. Now if it were Borderlands 3… that would’ve been something!

Sludge Life looks so awful I might have to try it.

That’s a REALLY good giveaway for people who don’t own it though!

I own the Borderlands stuff on Steam but I got it for free on Epic as well. Can’t hurt. Not like I’ll ever install most of the freebies I’ve gotten from Epic anyhow.

I jumped into the Epic app a couple of weeks ago to get GTAV free and hadn’t been on it in ages. Somehow I had all the Batman Arkham games and LEGO games that I certainly don’t recall even logging on to get for free. Now I have Civ 6 free also. Just so much free or super cheap stuff out there that I own but will never play. Or never even know I own.

Dear Penthouse. I never thought it could happen to me, but after updating my Epic launcher and being forced to log back in, everything is in Chinese, even though the language in settings is clearly set to English.

Edit: whew, restarting the launcher fixed it. I was reluctant to try because it was tough getting into it in the first place.

GOG.com keeps defaulting to Polish across several computers for me. Inexplicable since Windows and the browser are set to English.

You guys get all the cool errors. I’ve just been occasionally getting HTML code in place of a game title on the storefront.

Lulz. I actually remember those days, when porn was in magazines you hid under your bed.

Epic Games Store exclusively is a touchy subject for some PC gamers, but developer Creative Assembly may have found a way to make the best of a potentially divisive situation. When Total War Saga: Troy , the studio’s next game, comes out on August 13th, it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year. However, in the first 24 hours that it’s available, you’ll be able to download and keep the title for free. It will then make its way to Steam 12 months later on August 13th, 2021.

Man, they’re burning that fortnite money like leaves.

Neat, they’re doing something similar with the Samurai Shodown collection.

Some interesting things there, including the claim that EGS has a 15% share of the PC market. Though that would include Fortnite too.

Only 15%? I figured it would be way higher with Fortnite and all.

It makes me wonder what would be different in terms of their market share / perception if they hadn’t gone the exclusive route and instead relied only on the free giveaways and their $10 coupon sales to drive traffic?

They would probably have been as irrelevant as the Steam key resellers with big launch discounts like GMG.
