Founding Fathers Forum Game: A republic, if you can keep it.

Not time to start a new paper yet. @Brooski, there are level 1 and 2 liberal papers. Public support is currently 3 in favor of the Conservative party (accounting for the existing Liberal papers and newly published Conservative paper).

Do not publish.

Spend IP to push both up the track

Also play Honest “Abe” Lincoln - 3/1 IL with 3 votes.

Still not time to spend IP on papers, but we will get there.

We are now in the spend influence phase. Each player may spend influence to do each of the following:

  1. Give a speech.
  2. Whip up support.
  3. Place or improve a newspaper cube.

Note that you can only do each action once (e.g., can only place or promote one newspaper cube).

@Navaronegun is up first.

1 personal IP for whipping and the same for a paper.

@Brooski

@CF_Kane has to resolve the whipping first

President Dallas having support whipped up:

“Too much bondage, not enough discipline!” - Harvey Korman

Everyone else was thinking it

Uhm, no. :)

I don’t believe President Dallas ever appointed a Secretary of War last term. At least I don’t see it going back through the thread but maybe I missed it. How do you want to handle that @CF_Kane since it’s worth one pop?

@Ironsight is correct, and the rules say "must ". So I gotta do it.

The president must appoint his Cabinet by assigning the
Partisan Offices.
In addition he must appoint the Offices of General and Chief
Justice, should they become vacant. As with other Offices,
these appointments need not be completed immediately, but
must be resolved by the end of The Issues.

President Dallas, on his last day in office before his inauguration for a Second Term, appoints DeWitt Clinton (@Ironsight ) as SecWar

Man you guyses’ cabal just gets cabalier and cabalier.

Stop being the “Party of No” and we’ll talk.

El Presidente fails to whip support (rolled a 2). Over to @Brooski.

Monroe makes a speech
Monroe whips up support
Advance newspapers by 1 box each

You can only advance one newspaper, so I will advance the higher level paper unless you object.

Monroe gives a strong speech. A little push and it may get into the papers outside of Virginia. (He rolled a 5. Want to spend the one?)

Monroe fails to whip support (rolled a two).

As Clinton was SecState, appoint Thaddeus Stevens as SecWar (@Panzeh).

The President chuckles and has another drink.

+Spend 1 IP for Monroe speech*
