I don’t know how much of this article is true and how much is creative writing, but it gives a nice bed of context from which Rhapsody sprang:

Some of the same source language regarding the Gershwins is used here as well as in your Saturday Evening Post story.

It got me to buy a Gershwin collection on CD in the 90’s, and the whole CD is some of my favorite classical music in my collection. Piano Concerto, American in Paris, and, of course, Rhapsody in Blue.

One of my favorite pieces. During COVID, the Dallas Symphony put on the following program. It was a very limited audience, but we were able to attend. It was fabulous!
