Kindle eBooks Bargain Thread

I’m going to grab that. I really enjoyed Horns and Heart Shaped Box. Thanks for the tip!

A lot of the DC “new 52” comic volumes are on sale for $3.82 for Kindle. Here’s the Justice League one. I think the sales are only on the first volumes of each series but still that’s a great price.

Its NOS4R2 or Nosferatu

I had that ol’ isn’t it about time for another Bernard Cornwell novel feeling and…no. January or something like that for the next Saxon Tales.

But hey, the last one, Death of Kings, was at $1.99.

So my Kindle book “Heist School Freshmen” is free today at Amazon [edit: actually through Monday 12/9]. It’s a light read with lots of videogame references, and well, it’s free – so you can download it and leave it in your backlog without feeling guilty :)

Here’s the blurb:

Angelo Bastillo has just started high school, and already his life is over: dumped by the girl he’s been crushing on for years, hating every class, terrorized by twin bullies, and forced to consult a suicide line in lieu of therapy by his overprotective (and cheap) father. Then he and his friends Drew Wales and Lionel “Porno Name” Tang stumble upon a secret cache of dirty money that could make them rich, if they could only get at it.

With a crew of specialists from school (cracker, hacker, grifter and muscle) plus the suspect assistance of a mysterious senior known only as The Saint, Angelo plans an incredible heist to pull off the big score. But can he finish the job and still manage to finish freshman year?

Earth Abides is $1.99 today–go go go

Ooooooo - post apocalyptic fiction. Nice. Bought.

Sweet, I’ve had that book on my wish list forever. Bought. Thanks, Alan!

Bought as well. It’d be nice if they had a few more books from that era on sale as well. I have a lot of 70’s paperbacks, and I’d kind of like electronic versions.

I still want Zelazny’s back catalog to make it.

Just to date myself I was in high school in the late '70’s and we had a pretty cool high school. We had nine week english lit courses and one I took was called, “This is the End” and it was end-of-the-world fiction. Earth Abides was one we read. We also read Fail-Safe, Alas, Babylon, Hiero’s Journey, and On the Beach. Anyway, a thumbs-up to Earth Abides.

High school was '78-'82 for me. Sadly, ours was not a school high school where we read SF for class. Except for 1984, of course, and I read that long before I ran into it as an English assignment.

Of the books you mentioned, I’ve only read Heiro’s Journey, and I don’t remember much about it.

Hell yes!

I suppose it could happen. The Amber series got reprinted as 1200 page omnibus in 2010.

Another Nook deal. Not real flashy but if you must have the latest, right away, B&N is having a 25% off sale on select pre-orders. Of particular interest to me was Words of Radiance, the sequel to Brandon Sandersons excellent Way of Kings.

Still at that price as is Xahlts so snagged em both. Backlog activated!

This. A thousand times this.

After some google-fu, the ebook rights are in some sort of limbo between ex-wife and girlfriend at time of death. Damnation Alley did come out, as have some of the collaborative efforts. This pagehas links to many of his books’ “I want this on Kindle” pages - just click the links and you’ve done your part (though I only clicked for the omnibus Amber volume - I don’t want to have to buy them individually…).

Preorder. But that’s probably why the Kindle edition of the first book is $1.99 (which I am rereading in the Kindle format right this very moment).

30 horror authors, over 30 ebooks and all at .99 for one day.
