Left 4 Dead 2

He’s stated repeatedly that he’s disappointed by the voice acting specifically.

Now is where I point out that Bill is the best.

Sounded like Dennis Cuddy from The Wire doing the voiceover in the video at the Microsoft conference. So I guess I’m sold.

Either way, character development or plot depth out of a 30 second trailer is like reading the first page of a novel and expecting to understand it immediately.

You’re an idiot.

okay, so you’re talking about voice acting and mention personality. Personality isn’t entirely derived out of what your voice sounds like. And they had maybe… one line in the video of people talking.

So… Yeah. Once again my point stands.

Should’ve called it L5D and confused the hell out of everyone.

You’re an idiot.

But he HAS met Ron Jeremy, so… your point is invalid.

:) who’s got the pic?

No, it doesn’t. There are tons of videos, plenty of voice acting, and all I’m saying is that it (the bits you can hear) lacks personality when compared to the original.

So… Yeah. Once again you’re an idiot.

i just don’t feel like throwing down 50-60 bucks for another left 4 dead when the original was so light on content. its so out of character for valve to go this route.

Right…cause I’ve always wanted to meet a male pornstar.

I must have missed a video. The only line I heard was “Reloading!” and it sounded the same as in L4D just with a different voice. The real meat of the personalities in L4D is at the various trigger points where the characters have dynamic conversations about where they are going or what they see, hopefully Valve is just keeping those as a surprise for when you are actually playing the relevant campaigns.

They JUST released the SDK, and there are still plenty of things to fix in the original. I’m surprised, to be sure, but I will reserve my “buy/not buy” judgments until a bit closer to release.

I like the idea that the plot has more cohesion between chapters. I like a new setting, even though the bits I’ve seen of it weren’t doing anything for me, but it does seem fast.

There are a lot of videos. Eight, to be exact.

I only saw 2 linked within the actual article. The little videos thing says there are 8, but when I click that I get an empty page. Is this a new IGN strategy to make me refresh a lot to maximize pageviews?

When I go to the actual page, there’s a sidebar with eight videos in them, and one plays after another automatically.

Bring on the zombies! I’m with EFG the Qt3 group has got their money and then some out of the first one, I’ll gladly pay for more stuff.

Ah OK I got it. thanks!

My sincere apologies for the shameless self-promotion, but it does have the virtue of being relevant…
