Although I harbour a secret love for Dragonball Z, even I have trouble remaining optimistic about this.
I heard that the guy who wrote the scripts is some crazy guy that likes to post scary links on the internet.
He should make that into a movie.

A live-action Dragonball Z movie couldn’t possibly be good. The only thing I can hope is that it’s bad enough to be awesome.

It’s not complete without Harrison Ford. Dragonball Z is the art of drawing characters who look constipated 99% of the time. Harrison Ford defines that trait.
Okay, DBZ was cool enough for a small part of my childhood for me to be offended by what they did to Piccolo.
Dragon Ball Z was never cool. No matter how young and retarded you were. Now, if they would actually fight in each episode that’d be different. But they spent 3-6 episodes standing across from each other thinking about fighting before any actual action.

GOHAN SWINGS HIS BOWSTAFF AT GOKU’S HEAD! Instinctively Goku ducks and then lashes out with a blinding combination of moves that Gohan is barely able to evade.
The level of the battle becomes more and more intense. Goku’s skills are beyond phenomenal, bordering on supernatural.
GOKU PUNCHES THE BOULDER WITH A FIST PULVERIZING IT INTO LITTLE PIECES.
The fight moves over to AN OBSTACLE COURSE OF SORTS. A MYRIAD OF WOODEN POSTS of different heights and circumferences.

Holy crap that script is godawful.
Not that anyone really expected it to be watchable.

I had read that Ron Perlman had turned down the role of Piccolo to do Hellboy 2. I can definitely agree that that was the right move for him.
It’s a hard concept to wrap my head around, but they seem to have made the worst possible Dragonball movie. I mean, a live action Dragonball movie is going to be terrible regardless, but they’ve really seemed to reach for the stars and make it as terrible as possible.
I can’t stand the obsession with framing even the most fantastical plots in terms of how some geeky, hormone-amped high school student focused on bagging The Prettiest Girl in School would deal with them.
