Name a truly great board game from before 2008

Punch it!

I have an unpunched one too!

Come on, I had to.

I just took a quick look to see what a copy of Blitz goes for.

Oof

Thirty bucks?

Thirty bucks is real money!

Gah, I was on eBay, which was a mistake.

Yeah the eBay prices are ridiculous. They don’t reflect what people are actually paying for the game. I doubt any of those $200 or $300 lots ever sell. They just get posted to see if anyone will bite.

PanzerBlitz doesn’t command those kinds of prices right now because these things are almost always a function of rarity, and there were hundreds and hundreds of thousands of copies of that game printed over the years. Go to some garage sale and you have a decent chance of finding it. And people don’t really play it anymore. The stuff that goes for high prices is usually stuff that is rare AND that people would want to play. (Unplayable as it may be.) For example, try MMP’s Case Blue:

A lot of those Case Blue sales in the upper bracket included Guderian’s Blitzkrieg…

Price is still high but still.

I really enjoyed this episode also.

I am thinking of getting a copy of Blitz, even thought I will likely never play it.

Also, @Brooski are these rules the original rules, or the modified rules?

Unrelated, since it was on sale I got War in the East.

Looks like the original rules from a cursory examination

Great, thanks.

I was having challenges finding a good PDF of the original rules.

I managed to find a local copy on eBay for a decent price. Had all the counters, too. Bonus!
