I disagree. If you embrace cultural values that are anathema to the values of the nation you live in and combine that with a citizenship of another country that does represent your values, you’re a member of the latter.
I mean, officially I’m Catholic. I underwent all the required rituals during my childhood and never officially abandoned the church. Does that mean I am Catholic, even though I don’t identify with it at all?
