Thanks Steam for automatically updating when CS crashed (as it is wont to do) and then not letting me in any servers because they are now out of date.
Would it hurt to have a “delay 24 hours or update when needed” option?

Well, since you’re a beta tester for Steam, you should probably post this message in the appropriate forum on the official site.
Remember: once they have your money, they really, really care about you.
Mine does not do that. Because I told it not to.
You may want to consider setting the preferences and options and so on to your liking, it helps.
Is there a PEBKAC forum?
