Qt3 Antiques Roadshow

Nice. I can’t send pics unless I make my mom or dad do it and they’ll be fuzzy. Not sure how you authenticate something your Great Grandfather gave you… carbon dating? :D

I dunno man. Presumably they compare against known signatures?

Paul F. Tompkins appraises stuff?

Hahaha wondered if anyone else saw it that way too!

I don’t have anything ancient, but I have a few US ancient things.

My great-great-grandparent’s coffee mill, a wedding gift.

!

A small cooperage thingy, my grandparent’s umbrella stand, dated 1890 on the bottom.

A family table, again probably late 1800s. Covered in a leatherworking project.

And lastly, ten years ago when I bought this house I treated myself to an original Gustav Stickley chair.

I helped my mom clear out some more of my grandparents’ house over the weekend. We found some cool stuff!

Not sure of the actual age of this without checking the serial number, but some casual googling suggests it’s about a hundred years old.

This is kind of cool too. It’s my Grandpa’s Air Force-issued lighter from 1959. His name is engraved on the back.

There were some other neat things I didn’t think to get pictures of. I’ll put them up here when I go back over there.

Oh good, there’s a thread for this to go in!
