QT3 HiveMind HW PriceCheck in aisle 69...

Co-worker appears to have mistakenly sold me a XB271HK which is a 4K monitor at 60hz. Hence his confusion about it “only able to do 60Hz.”

So…do I get my money back or keep this? Did I make out better or worse?

Well, the real problem there is that unless you have a 1080, you aren’t going to get good performance (assuming you intend to play games on it)

Yeah, that model is more expensive, so you probably did okay financially. But in terms of actual gaming usage, I’d take the higher refresh rate on the other model over the extra resolution any day.

I guess I’ll keep this until I can save up and pair it with another 27" at some point later.

Time to hunt down some 4K porn to put this monitor through its paces.

You wanna Skype later?

Oooh, Armando4k, that’s the premium subscription!

4K gaming, pay twice as much for half the framerate! (To be fair the resolution is 4x)

I guess I need a new 4K monitor with 144hz and a 2080 Ti to get anything above the 30fps average I get with Ultra settings on.

and boy, do more than a few games not like it when Windows DPI scaling isn’t set at 100%.

I have one, it’s a great monitor, I got mine ~1 year ago for around $550… I would offer maybe $300 for a used on now, cash… that’s just me.

Picked up a (nearly) matching XB271HU this weekend for $220 CAD off $999 CAD list. Two matching (not resolution though) IPS G-Sync panels with minimal bezels are very nice.
