AI in a mod that covers all bases would be OK, but I’m skeptical it’s possible. From what I’ve read Glavius is already stretching what’s feasible. At some point one has to admit it simply isn’t a priority for the developer. If it quacks like a duck and all that.

Your point on strategic choices is a very good one. I don’t think the game will ever be that strategic, even if the AI knows how to use the systems. I still find fiddling with the systems enjoyable in spurts, but it scratches the itch of a “clicker” game rather than 4X. I’m finally starting to come to grips with that.
