Tell us what's happened to you recently (that's interesting)

I can appreciate that. As much as I love Star Trek, for example, it’s sort of an eye roll moment when once a year the animated GIF thread is just Trek gifs for like 40 posts. :)

Well Armando, I can’t say that mowing gives me any great pleasure, other than when I finish it. Our goal is to downsize and sell the house and then I will never have to mow again, in theory at least.

I much prefer when it goes Babylon Five, but DS-9 is perfectly fine too.

Did somebody say Star Trek gifs?

And as a Gen Xer who did own property and mowed and is now soooo happy to now be a renter again with no yard, I concur.

If I had a lawn that size, I would SO get me a lawnmover I could sit on, with a proper steer!!! Not because I dislike doing the garden, in fact I like it a lot. But passing up the oppertunity to drive around that lawn… no…

I just wish we could have a fire pit. Too many morons around town to allow us to have fires I guess. We had an enclosed metal fire pit thing years ago and some jerk called the fire department on us and they threatened to fine me $200 if I did it again.

I was just being dumb, @legowarrior. Thank you for the clip!

That’s a good story. I’ve wanted to serve on a jury ever since they made us watch 12 Angry Men in high school social studies class. So far, the counties I have lived in have had their 12 Angry Manpower needs met by other people, but maybe someday…

When I was a kid our house had a 3/4 acre lot. My dad or brother got to ride the mower, but I had to rake the grass. I have pretty bad seasonal allergies too.

:(

I LOVE that movie…

I just dropped the wife and kids off at the airport for a family vacation thing they’re doing with her sister and kids.

The house is so quiet, you guys. It is glorious.

I love my family very much, but between day job, dad job, and side hustle I’ve been burning pretty hard lately and a relaxing week with my own self is just a wonderful prospect.

Glorious, I’m telling you.

Having been stuck in the car with the family all morning that sounds amazing.

Oh man. Was solo dad with the kids stuck in the house all day yesterday. I feel those feels.

Sooooooo fucking jelly!

The first couple mows of the season I cut at 2.75’‘. After it starts getting warmer and the ground is warmed up I cut at 3.25’’ so it doesn’t dry out so fast. I wish I had an irrigation system. I’ve got just over an acre lot and trying to keep it watered manual is a losing battle. Our soil is a lot of sand too so it doesn’t hold the moisture much.

I too like the electric weedwacker. Easily powerful enough to cut grass and some thinner woody stuff.

Our grass took a beating when we were in France. We had a dry summer, no watering and I think our house sitter let it go pretty long before he mowed so there is a lot of thatch build up so now our grass is n’t as thick. It wasn’t great to begin with, but it took a step back.

I LOVE it when the wife takes the kid for travel! So fun, exciting, quiet.

Then 24 hours after they leave I’m bored out of my skull.

OK sometimes it takes 48 hours. Or 72.

Between netflix, steam, dcs and pornhub I’d be bored about six femtoseconds. At most. If at all.
