Last night Janet Mills became Maine’s 75th governor and the first woman to hold the office in the state’s 199-year history. She was Maine’s first female criminal prosecutor and the first woman Attorney General in New England.
The substance and tone of her inauguration speech was like a smudging ceremony wiping away the shameful stain of the LePage administration.
A rendition of Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire,” sung by Shy Paca, 11, and Natalia Mbadu, 10, brought the audience to its feet, cheering.
On a level of @ArmandoPenblade’s love of any GOP congress member (0) to @tomchick’s physical based love of Sarah Palin (10,) where does Trig stand here?
