Signs of the Sojourner requires a controller on cloud even though it’s a PC game and can be played just fine with the emulated mouse via Steam link. :P
I saw it on a number of indie-friendly best-of lists last year, and I think it got some recognition in the IGF awards. It didn’t grab me. The setting and story is interesting if low-key. The card game didn’t really seem to have deep enough mechanics to justify the deck-building, but maybe I didn’t give it long enough.
Hey cool, I do have it in that bundle. At first I thought I did not, if I just go to the main itch.io site and search for Signs of the Sojourner I get the game page, but it asks me to pay $19.99 to play. Which seemed odd because I figured I probably had that bundle, and when I went back through my purchases I did see the game was in the bundle and I could download from there. Not terribly user friendly.

A while back they added a little thing to the top of game pages that say you purchased it in a bundle:
It doesn’t show up in the search results like that, but if you click through it should be there.

I’m traveling and decided to give the xCloud a try, and I guess say, it’s REALLY good now.
I was able to play destiny, and didn’t have any noticable input lag. There was probably some, but generally it was running super smooth. And this was on fairly trashy hotel wifi.
Probably the biggest issue was just the fact that I was playing on my phone with smaller thumb sticks that made it harder to aim, but I gotta say, Microsoft has definitely stepped their game up and improved their cloud architecture quite a bit.
Well, time to install the Artful Escape!
…
…
Xbox app won’t let me install new games. I have this issue
I’m trying to solve it now…
edit : still nothing :/ what am I paying for Gamepass again?
I really don’t get why the outlets aren’t giving more coverage to what a mess the PC app is.
I tried to reinstall / reset / repair
-Xbox app
-MS Store
-MS gaming services
-Xbox Identity Provider
I installed some pending updates, executed the PS command ‘Get-appxpackage Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider | Remove-AppxPackage’ that lots of people says it works, rebooted a few times, changed some registry entries, still nothing.
It was working perfectly a few days ago, when I installed Crown Trick!
I see myself reinstalling Windows this weekend.
I had a problem with installing and playing games a couple weeks ago too, and what finally ended up working for me was uninstalling and re-installing the Gaming service. But it looks like you tried that, so your problem must be different than what I was seeing.

As much as I enjoy cheap-as-free Game Pass, this shit is why an OS-integrated store is a bad idea.
It’s stuff like this that makes me very wary of installing stuff on my PC through the app. GamePass is great and all, but the PC side of it is ehhh. Playing through X Cloud works all right, but for (some) of the console games only.
It’s hell. It’s stopped working twice for me. I tried every trick garnered from web searches. Once changing my login worked (oversimplifying there); the more recent time that I was complaining about a few months ago may have been fixed on their end. But I can’t picture ever purchasing something from Microsoft’s store because I have no confidence I will be able to install it over time.

Can you install the game via the Microsoft Store app? I’ve used that to install games (just search for the game and on the store page there should be a banner to install without buying it if it’s part of gamepass) when the Xbox app hadn’t updated with new games, but I haven’t had any actual installation issues before though.
For me, when I was having the issues I could not. The issues eventually went away, but I don’t trust that they won’t return.

I had issues with The Artful Escape on console this morning too. I think the game was just screwed up and for once we can’t blame this one on the Xbox app / windows store.

It happens the same to other games so…
edit:
I have Event Viewer system full with warnings saying:
It’s a twofold problem in general on PC. The app has problems with managing content that leads to games not installing, running, or being able to be properly uninstalled. Then the other issue is that the PC Game Pass version of a game frequently has its own issues and bugs that are absent from the regular PC version.

Damn it, overwhelmed with too many good games right now. And here’s more I already had my eye on.
Skatebird (September 16)
Aragami 2 (September 17)
Sable (September 23)
Lemnis Gate (September 28)
Astria Ascending (September 30)
I’m going to have to be extra picky. Maybe only try Sable and Lemnis Gate.
Oh yeah, Sable! Almost forgot that one. The demo was really good.
I really liked the first Aragami. Looking forward to that one.
