I’ll admit that most of my evidence comes from watching TV shows, but I do think most of the high body count serial killers, are very smart, with great memories, and obsession fpr details.
Folks who lack these traits tend to get caught long before they can rack up double digit kills.
I’m fairly sure killing someone is a pretty memorable event.
Especially so when it’s also likely your obsession. Generally speaking, they tend to go over those events many, many times after the fact in their head, often for years.
I don’t think anyone wants to really try and get into the head of serial killers. It’s gross inside there, and yeah, most wouldn’t understand because we don’t want to. It’s not normal.
Yeah, it’s been a whole damn thing for them, which sucks. On the other hand, hey, handy reminder not to get mixed up in terrifying murder-cults, I guess?
