The King of Kong (AFI Dallas Film Festival)

Return from the grave, just like Billy “USA” Mitchell and his dubious Donkey Kong high scores!

Seems Billy got an expert witness who said, much like Tony Shaloub’s lawyer character in The Man Who Wasn’t There, look, stuff breaks, so who’s to say whether Billy did or didn’t get his high scores? And if there’s no one to say if he didn’t, then he should!

Apparently this only applies to an old-fashioned, post-Boomer, pre-Millennial era scoreboard. The newfangled scoreboard is far beyond Billy’s capabilities.

“Interesting” timing…

Billy Mitchell was proved to be cheating, both via statistical analyses and direct evidence of playing on MAME, which taken together implies splicing runs together with save states beyond reasonable doubt. There’s a reason he’s never done it live, and there’s no reason to take him seriously.

Mitchell is at Trump levels of “will ignore” for me at this point. The guy is nuts.

I feel like one of those “will ignores” is easier than the other.

Until Trump picks Mitchell for VP.
