Ok, glad I went back and rewatched it as the rest of the movie was pretty good. Still not a fan of the very beginning but I like how they handled the rest of it.
Finally got to watch it. It’s, meh, okay, I guess?
It has great art direction and sound design (nobody slams their car doors, it’s a nice touch), but then again, the entire cast mumbles their lines so it’s hard to understand anything anyone says. They kill Didier Lucien waay too quickly, which sucks. I’m starting to find the token grimness of zombies movies off-putting too. People keep dying for contrived reasons and it doesn’t help that the movie has a very bad case of zombie-movie stupidity. Every three minutes there’s someone foraging or going on useless errands alone, leaving their car windows down, not wearing gloves or a helmet or ditching their car and going nowhere useful for no good reason, etc.
