Just noticed this and wanted to say something - I was playing a six-player game with people who hadn’t played before (so no metas, no roles, no plot cards) and me and this other guy were spies. I was fingered as a spy and my spy buddy was suspicious but nothing solid. He started to get more and more suspicious and as a last-ditch effort I proposed the winning four-person team (that is, it had all Resistance and no spies). They shot it down and the next guy in line proposed it again and it was approved. Fun times.
