I’ve never seen a tie before. What happens next? Instant Runoff Polling?

According to the OP:

but you’re right, I don’t think this has come up before.

The rules say the host breaks the tie, and that’s me! I pick @vinraith’s Decemberists pick, partly because I voted for it anyway, and partly because Vinraith voted for King Crimson, and it would be kinda sad if he lost because of his own vote :)

Hans has his theme song now. They can use it in the next twelve Die Hard movies!

Your go, @vinraith!

Well alright then!

I love the villain thing but I had a thought awhile back and this is the first chance I’ve had, so I’m going to roll with it:

Emmett Brown

The inimitable scientist, polymath, and borderline lunatic with a penchant for selling terrorists used arcade game components to fund his research.

Give this charming vortex of well-meaning chaos a proper theme, folks.

Well, I mean, come on:

(Thomas Dolby - She Blinded Me with Science)

Dandy Warhols - I Am a Scientist

Not to be confused with the Guided by Voices song of the same name and vastly different lyrics (the GbV one is what I would have picked for my own Rusty Venture pick, was a little disappointed no one picked it.)

The cover of The Chambers Brothers nearly-hit song “Time Has Come Today”, as covered by The Ramones. The Chambers Brothers’ version wouldn’t quite fit the 1955 Doc Brown. He didn’t seem to have the love of altered states that other mad scientists dip into. He’s more of a '80s punk, putting together a time machine out of a DeLorean in his garage after burning his house down. And not for nothing, but that guitar work almost sounds like something his youthful friend Marty might jam out on Doc’s ridiculously large amp. Doc seems to be most comfortable, most adaptable, in time frames way outside his own, retrofitting his time machine with hover wheels and a Mr. Fusion in the future or assembling a steampunk nightmare of a train in the past. Hence, a cover version of a song from a few decades before, and it always comes more quickly than expected. When is time coming? Hear that tick-tock banged out on the cowbell, sounding like what dozens of clocks in one madman’s garage apartment might sound like, or the thrum of a flux capacitor meeting its appointed density. Time is here today, coming at you at 88 mph.

I can’t believe you guys made this whole big thread just about that one Tina Turner song

It’s true, we didn’t need another hero, which is why I picked a villain.

Any others for Doc Brown?

Yes! I was camping over the weekend and am working on my pick currently.

A song literally about someone inventing time travel. Need I say more?

‘It all came to me, in the wake of a dream, bending space, reversing the streams. The knowledge is mine, to influence time, and avert our decline’

I mean a concussion induced dream is still a dream

And @JoshL takes it courtesy of Thomas Dolby. So, back to you Josh!

I’m on a roll!

Thinking of the next one…
