Univision buys The Onion

No, this isn’t an Onion article. Univision is buying a controlling stake in The Onion and The A.V. Club.

The agreement between two seemingly disparate media outfits was described to NPR by a person with direct involvement in the negotiations. A second person who was briefed on the deal by Univision executives also confirmed its broad strokes. The amount of money involved in the deal was not disclosed. NPR has also obtained a memo from the CEO of The Onion announcing the deal to staffers.

Hope they’re not planning to change things too much, The A.V. Club is still one of my favorite sites.

Area man feels just a little more caliente.

Since this was the closest thing I could find…Good news!

Until fairly recently, Collins was an NBC news reporter who was an outspoken critic of corporate plundering. His main beat of late had been calling out extremism in social media and the tech world.

For fans of The Onion, this seems like pretty great news.

La Cebolla? En serio???

Eight years too late, I’m afraid.

Doh! Didn’t realize this was an old thread.
